An Albany area high school assistant principal, Horace Bentley, was arrested on two sexual assault charges, resigned on Monday.

Bentley was arrested on two sexual assault charges.

The local school board canceled their Monday meeting due to Bentley’s resignation, and his resignation will not impede investigations from the local police or the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, which govern educator certificates.

According to reports from WALB, Bentley was investigated twice for sexual complaints before this current account of sexual assault.

In 2014 and 2016, two complaints came forward from two male students about sexual misconduct, but the school district did not find enough evidence to dismiss Bentley of his duties.
